Volos, April 21, 2016 – The official informative presentation on natural gas-powered vehicles that was successfully held on Wednesday, April 20 at the Volos City Hall on the occasion of the operation of the new FISIKON – BP service station on 202 Larissis Str. signaled the introduction of Gas power in the daily life of the city of Volos.
Attendants at the event have had the opportunity to get information on the many benefits of natural gas as vehicle fuel and on DEPA’s plan to expand the use of gas-powered vehicles in the Greek market being implemented over the past years.
In their address, local authority representatives pointed out the significant role that natural gas can play in the use of vehicles in the Region of Thessaly. In particular, Regional Vice Governor of Thessaly, Mrs. Dorothea Kolyndrini, found the introduction of the natural gas fuel in Thessaly to be very good news, pointing out the fact that natural gas can offer a sustainable and feasible alternative to conventional fuel for the citizens of the Region. She also added that she left the NGV Test Drive absolutely impressed thanks to FISIKON natural gas fuel which allows a noise-free motion and low emissions.
Similarly, Deputy Mayor of Volos, Mr. Thanos Theodorou, welcomed himself as well the arrival of FISIKON in the city of Volos, emphasizing the beneficial impact on the increase of NGVs in the city, namely the substantial reduction of emissions compared to those of conventional vehicles and, by extension, the improvement of the life quality downtown.
On his part, DEPA Vice Chairman, Dimitris Dimitriadis, reaffirmed the company’s steady commitment to implement the development plan for FISIKON network across Greece, expressing his conviction that natural gas is the future of the automotive.
FISIKON, the natural gas fuel for NGVs will allow residents to choose a unique type of fuel. Compared to other conventional fuel, natural gas costs much less, is safer and more environmentally friendly, thanks to the reduced emissions of particles and carbon dioxide emissions. Therefore it can contribute significantly to a cleaner environment, especially in terms of air pollution in the city – which is a major consideration for the local community.
Finally, it should be stressed that anyone interested in seeing the benefits of NGVs for themselves, may attend the Test Drives of latest NGVs (private and professional vehicles) which will be open to the public and will take place from Wednesday, April 20 to Sunday, April 24, 10:00 – 18:00, at the below locations:
