Ministry Decree for the transformation of car engines to dual fuel, was signed
The Ministerial Decision (Decision No.10852/715 / 30.05.2014, Official Gazette 1466) for the conversion of vehicles powered by other fuels to dual fuel natural gas (CNG) was signed by the responsible Deputy Infrastructure Minister, Michalis Papadopoulos. The Ministerial Decision is the consequence of the Law which was voted in the parliament on 01.15.2014.
With that legislation, Greek law is harmonized with the European one, in a way that meets functional capabilities of the automotive industry in the country and is now expected to give great impetus to the spread of “Gas Motor Fuel”. Additionally DEPA will intensify its efforts to develop the stations network for CNG vehicles in Greece.
Besides all the well-known environmental benefits of the extended use of natural gas as an automotive fuel, natural gas will play a key role to job growth in the sector of vehicles conversion. Because of the significant savings achieved in transport, gas will contribute to shaping more competitive products and services.
Therefore considerable savings are expected for drivers of automobiles (cars, taxis, trucks, buses) and for the national economy, through trade and goods’ transition.
