A meeting of the representatives of the companies participating in ICGB AD, which has undertaken the construction and operation of the gas interconnector Greece – Bulgaria, was held yesterday in the presence of the Minister of Productive Reconstruction, Environment and Energy, Mr. Panayiotis Lafazanis, and the Minister of Energy of Bulgaria, Ms Temenuzhka Petkova.
Shareholders of ICGB AD are: POSEIDON (in which DEPA and the Italian EDISON equally participate) and Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH).
The revised program of the project development was finalized in the meeting along with the road map for the starting of operation of the pipe line which is planned for 2018.
The meeting, in continuation of the governments of Greece and Bulgaria, aimed at securing the conditions for the shortest project implementation.
Furthermore, the two cooperating sides approved the budget for the funding of the necessary actions until the starting date of constructing the pipe line.
The length of the interconnector will be 180km – 30 of which on Greek territory (from Komotini to the Greek-Bulgarian borders) and 150km in Bulgaria.
The transmission capacity will be 3 billion cubic meters of gas annually which can be increased to 5 billion cubic meters when a compressor is constructed.
The meeting was signed by DEPA’s CEO, Mr. Spyros Paleoyiannis, EDISON’s representative, Mr. Elio Ruggeri, and the Co-CEO of BEH, Ms.Theodora Georgieva.
