Depa SA’s Commitments on Energy Management – Energy Policy

Recognising the need for DEPA S.A., a company with a main mission to import, transmit and market natural gas, to make a dynamic contribution in saving of energy and energy sources, we believe that a concerted effort must be made to lower the Company’s energy footprint.

Our commitment concerns our operational and strategic choices, our employees’ priorities and our investment plan. It is a commitment that aligns perfectly with sustainable development and the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility.

In particular, we commit to:

Improving in a substantiated and continuous way the overall energy performance of our operations, in all our facilities, namely the buildings, the Bus Refueling Stations (Ano Liosia and Anthousa) as well as all parts of the natural gas supply chain under our control:

  • by implementing efficient and documented energy monitoring of daily operations across our corporate functions, and
  • by implementing plans for the improvement of our energy performance.

Regularly reviewing the company’s energy performance goals and targets.

Informing and educating our employees on the measures to prevent excess energy consumption, and the energy performance across the various departments and the company as a whole. Encouraging the employees to adopt new energy-efficiency opportunities, both in their work and private activities.

Having all relevant information and providing the necessary materials and human resources in order to accomplish our policy objectives.
Considering energy consumption as:

  • an important selection criterion in the supply of equipment and services, and
  • a determining factor in the design of our processes and facilities.

Researching based on evidence methods of reducing energy consumption, reduction conventional fossil fuel use and increasing the use of Natural Gas and other renewable or alternative energy sources.

A prerequisite for any relevant action is compliance with EU and Greek legislation, regulations and good practices on energy use.

In order to effectively implement the above, we have adopted ISO 50001:2018, the international standard for Energy Management.
