The agreement was signed today between GAZPROM EXPORT and DEPA, including price reductions of natural gas supply and also a beneficial range of other contractual provisions that are particularly important and attractive for customers of DEPA, the energy market and the competitiveness of the National economy.
With this agreement, which was completed with the contribution of the Greek Government and particularly the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change, the supply price of natural gas is decreased by 15%. This price level is now approaching the European average gas supply price, agreed by GAZPROM EXPORT and the countries of continental Europe, through long-term contracts.
The reduction applies retrospectively from 1/7/2013, allowing for repayment of all gas customers within the Greek market.
This agreement extends the power of the contract concerning the Russian natural gas supply, for 10 years.
